Department of Nuclear Medicine
Department of nuclear medicine was established in 1975, radionuclide imaging was carried out in 1996 with the use of single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) in the hospital. We are the first department to use the positron emission tomography and cyclotron in southwest area in 2001. Over 3000 cancer, neurological function diseases and myocardial infarct cases have been examined up to now. Better social effects were got and many supporting works for development of clinical medicine were made followed by using FDG-PET clinical examination and scientific research.
FDG-PET for diagnosis of cancer, staging of cancer, early evaluation of oncotherapy and metabolism functional imaging of brain were conventional carried out. PET was an important method for oncotherapy and functional neurosurgery. Myocardial perfusion imaging and cerebral blood flow imaging and bone imaging and thyroid imaging were also conventional carried out.
Biograph 64 TruePoint PET/CT of Siemens will be installed in Daping hospital in the near future and many kinds of positon labeled molecular probe will be used in clinical and research.
